Make the most of life at Borderless House! ! Let us introduce what’s cool about Link Up program!

Hi guys! This is Risa from Borderless House Tokyo:)
It’s been way too hot these days…hope everybody is not suffering too much from the Japanese heat (I miss Spring everyday…!!)!

On the happy note! Today I would like to introduce our new program “Link Up” with the voices from the participants♪
Are you ready to sign up right after you read this blog!?

What is our new program “Link Up”?

Started from April -this programme has 2 themes, and consists of 2 different sessions accordingly.

1.  For those who wants to connect with people through languages ”Link Up x Language”

Get in groups of different languages, and enjoy the talking sesh!
Don’t worry about your language level; our staff will be there as a facilitator!

2. For those who wants to connect with people outside your house “Link Up x Activity”

Let’s meet new people from other houses and have fun together!
There is nothing particular fixed yet; YOU take the lead, let us know what you want to do!

Here is more details→What is Link Up?

*In the previous blog, we have introduced in detail 🙂

To answer“What is Link Up actually like?”, let me introduce the program more in detail with the voices from the participants.

What is Link Up like?

Both Link Up x Language and Link Up x Activity start with self introduction! Everyone shares their country of origin, their house name, hobbies etc.

Link Up x Language

Let’s start group conversation!

They pick up the topic cards which every participant wrote before the event!

Not confident enough about your language level? Don’t worry! Our staff is there for your support (us being us in the picture at the back lol)

It’s time for English-Japanese mixed talking sesh!

We have Japanese-only and English-only time alternately and talk about any topics of your choice:)
When the time comes, “Let’s change the language!”
Enjoy the fun of practicing out your language skills!

From easy topics to deep topics…
Once again, this program is something we build together with you all, so we would like your ideas on what we talk about!

「Link Up x Activity」

Today’s activity is Board Games!!

Same as Link Up x Language, this is also the participants’ idea.
This is why we can enjoy a lot!

Speaking of a board game that is fun to play in a big group…Deception Game!

Blue team (Good) and Red team(Evil) compete against each other.
Evil people are the ones who intends to mess up the game!

They are suspecting each other to find Evil people.
You need to keep a poker face…this is a mind game.

Is this a victory of Good team or Evil team!?

…Good people could not stop the attack of Evil people, the red Red team’s victory!!

After the deception game, we played games in two groups.
One of the teams enjoyed playing LOVE Jenga♥ Each time you draw a brick, you must answer the question written on it or do what you’re told to. As the title let you guess, some of the questions are “love”-related.

Time flies when you’re having fun…in closing, we took a group photo!
When the staff suggested “Why don’t we make a Link Up pose?”
Everybody happily responded to our request ♪

…and that’s how “Link Up pose” gave birth to the world!

Here are the voices from the participants

“Link Up is something all the participants and the staff build together, this is why it is attractive!”

“As I expected, I could interact with people from different houses!”
Simple topics made the conversation easier”

“Playing the games definitely helped break the ice early on and seemed to keep everyone entertained throughout the night.”

Link Up is a new program which is created by your voice.

3 attractive points of Link Up program

Attraction①:What’s common for all the participants is “Borderless House”, just relax and talk!

All the participants are the tenants in Borderless House just like you.
Since they all join this program searching for more interaction with new people,
you can expect a conversation spontaneous, free, and no hard feelings… this is exactly border-less!
There is nothing to be aware of! Just pop in alone and make friends here!

Attraction②:You can become a creater with your ideas.

We decide program contents based on your ideas written in the reservation form.
Everyone has different ideas! Participants are the creators.

This is a part of actual reservation form.
“Want to make new friends who share the same hobby” “Want to make more friends who I can talk something I like with”
You can make your wish come true with this program!

Attraction③:”Connecting”circles of Borderless House

After the event, they went to a bar together, made a plan to go watch a movie etc. people are truly connected and the circle of Borderless House is spreading beyond borders.

Why don’t you enlarge your circle of friends with Link Up program?

So, how was it?

This is our original program which gives you a chance to meet and connect with new people from other houses through language and hobbies.

Why not make the most of the multicultural connections you made on the day!?

As the number of participants is limited up to 15 people, you can enjoy deeper interaction in a relaxing atmosphere, which is something different from big events. Why don’t you join us now?

Language Exchange Orientation – Doheon & Adam

Hello! This is Borderless House Seoul.
Here in Seoul, the weather is becoming colder and colder day by day.
We hope you do not get a cold here in Seoul!

Do you know Language Exchange which is one of our tenants only program?
This is the program which we match two of our tenants,
a Korean tenant who would like to learn a foreign language
and a Non-Korean tenant who would like to learn Korean language.

This time we matched a Korean tenant Doheon and a Canadian tenant Adam.
Since we hold an orientation for the program in our office,
we ask them to come our office for their orientation.

Adam, our tenant from Canada had stayed in Japan
for a long time before coming to Seoul.
He is studying Korean language currently,
and he wanted to have a Korean friend who can help him improve his skill.
And our Korean tenant Doheon is currently working as a police officer.
He applied this program for studying English as self-improvement.
Since the houses they are staying is no that far from each others,
we matched them because we think it will help them to meet more often.

During the orientation, our staff will help you to feel comfortable.
Everyone thinks it will be awkward because it is the first time to meet each other,
but with our staff, you do not have to be worried about it!

After having orientation, they can have an appointment outside.
They usually study languages together, but sometimes they do look around Seoul
and have meal together, and it helps them to improve their language skill.

It will be the big opportunity for all out tenants
not only having good memory with their housemates,
but also making a Korean or Non-Korean friend and study language together.
Do not miss this chance if you are currently staying in Borderless House!
If you have any questions regarding this program,
please feel free to contact our staff:)

*HOUSE EXCHANGE* Claire – From Tokyo to Seoul!

Hello! This is Borderless House Seoul.
House Exchange program is the most popular program
from all of tenants only program provided by Borderless House.
This time, our current tenant staying in Tokyo had visited Seoul
and had great time with her housemates in Seoul.
We would like to share her memory in Seoul with you!

Hello! My name is Claire and I am from France.
I am currently staying in one of Borderless’ share houses in Tokyo.
I had no plan for Christmas and I got to know House Exchange program,
so I decided to go to Seoul for my Christmas with this program.

It was my first time visit Seoul and I felt it is really cold in here,
and it is much more colder than Tokyo.
I was really worried that I can travel well in this cold weather,
but it was really nice because I could stay with really kind housemates.
Their warm welcoming helped me to stay warm in here, Seoul.

I traveled Seoul with housemates in Hongdae Share house, Seoul.
They stayed in Seoul for quite a long time and
their recommendation for Seoul trip was really awesome!
The most memorable thing was visiting Palace in Seoul.
I could take many good pictures with my housemates!

Housemates I stayed with in Seoul were really nice to me.
We traveled Seoul together, and we spent time in house.
Sometimes we cook and have meal together.
In Tokyo, I am staying in triple room,
but for this travel I stayed in a private room.
It was quite experience!

I visited many shopping malls with housemates.
I did shopping and look around many shops in there.
It helped me to be closed to my housemates in Seoul.

Do you know Cheese Chicken Galbi?
It becomes really famous in Tokyo nowadays.
I think the most enjoyable things in travel is having its local food.
I could try Korean food in Tokyo, but it is totally different having in Seoul!

It was really nice that I could meet many new people and be closed to them.
I am not sure when can I meet them again,
but if there is a chance, I would surely meet them in Tokyo or Seoul.
And I would like to come back to Seoul for new trip!
I 100% recommend this program to all of Borderless House’s tenants!

Over 100 participants attended! We threw a Christmas Party on December 9th!

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer~ had a very shiny nose~♪

Hi all! This is Kohei from a marketing team!

Christmas is just around the corner!

We had a Christmas party with over 100 people from various Borderles Houses on December 9th and today we would like to share it with you!

Click here for the video and you can see what the party was like!

All the events Borderless House creates provide you an international environment! Multicultural party unique to Borderless House!

We hired the place in Shinjuku for the party.
Staffs look like they are enjoying setting up for the party.

Doors finally opened! The atmosphere is getting lively by tenants streaming into the party place.

A tenant who holds the paper with number has him taken. What is going to be started!?

The party has finally begun! Kenny and Riko from Borderless House is setting up the mood for the party!

Various events to give a chance to interact with other participants.

There are some twists to make participants get close during the party!

Find your partner! Number matching!

The wrist band with number is used to find your partner. You find a person who has the same number as yours, you and your partner will get one drink for free!

We found many ways to make friends at the party! Some people willingly talk to others, some write their number big on a paper and show it, etc..

‘Nice to meet you!’ ‘How are you?’ Everyone is talking each other and having fun!

You will never be alone at the party even there is no housemates around you! We are not just friends, but borderlessmates!

Bingo game for one month free rent!

All the participants are photographed with number which is going to be used for bingo game! First prize is a one-month-free-rent!

Everyone got so excited when either you or your housemates got a prize!!

Congrats for the first prize!

The award for today’s best dressed!

This award determines a best dressed tenants.

2 tenants were selected for the prize! It was too hard for us to pick one.

The one in a costume of Santa Clause and the other one was DJing during the party!

‘Like’ the picture! The award for the most liked picture!

We gave this award to a person who gets the most ‘like’ on a picture taken during the party on SNS such as Instagram and Facebook!

The prize is a pair thicket for Disneyland & Disneysea!
There is a designated point for taking pictures in the party place. Snap with housemates and new friends!

She got over 200 likes on Instagram and won the prize!!

Congratulation!!!

We all had a blast! We believe that only share house can create bond between residents!

We reaffirmed strong connections between housemates through the event.

As soon as one of their housemates went on the stage, the rest of them started screaming the name of their house!

Even though each of them lives in different Borderless Houses, they became friends through the party and also made some connections between houses.

This event made them have a wider circle of friends! (Some of our tenants sometimes have parties with friends from different Borderless Houses that met at our past events!)

The party brought ‘Borderless’ relationship between all the participants regardless of their language and nationality.

The party came to an end! We all took a picture together!

We will have more parties which bring connections between tenants in the future!

We assure that you will learn not only language but also Japanese local culture with your Japanese housemates in Borderless House!

Why don’t you try us and make your stay more enjoyable?

*HOUSE EXCHANGE* Daniel – Kyoto to Seoul

House Exchange from Kyoto to Seoul!

Hello, this is Share House Borderless House! Our tenant staying in Kansai, Daniel has been to Seoul for a week by house exchange program! He has shared his precious memories with housemates in Share house in Seoul, and gave us some nice pictures taken in Seoul after a trip. Let’s see how was his trip to Seoul and what he felt in Seoul! Hello, everyone! My name is Daniel and I am currently staying in Borderless Share house Osaka. I came Kyoto to study Japanese and learning new language is always so hard. So I decided to visit Seoul for my short holidays! I had stayed in one of share houses of Borderless House Seoul for my trip. I would like to share some moments of my trip with everyone! When I visited Seoul, it was rainy season and sometimes it was really hard to walk around. But when I visited the palace, the weather was really awesome! The palace I have visited has unique atmosphere with great weather. I was really happy to take pictures during the time walk around the palace. Share house where I have stayed in Seoul was near Hongdae. Hongdae 4 house has really great access to famous area in Seoul! Especially to Hongdae, it takes only around 5 minutes by walk. The picture is the center of Hongdae, and I was on my way to have fancy dinner! The place I loved most was the market. I could meet many local people there and could feel real Seoul. People who sells fish were really kind! They kept ask me to have some raw fish when they clean fish. Do not miss trying delicious dishes in the market! I had Jeon which is cooked fish and vegetables with egg and flour. It was so nice and I could drink a lot with these Jeon! I was so busy during the day and my housemates also had their schedule. So we always met in the night time and loved to have a conversation and drink! We enjoyed to visit fancy restaurants together and the picture is the moment we visited Han-river! They recommend me to have “Chimaek” which is having Fried Chicken and Beer!   I love traveling, but it was my first time to stay in Share house. It was really awesome because I could meet many local tenants in Seoul! After this trip, I am planning to visit Taipei with this program again! Real share house life report introduced by a tenant

Hello.

This is Hyesoon from BORDERLESS HOUSE Kansai office.

I guess there are many people thinking like this “I’m interested in a share house but what kind of people are living like”

So, here is the second blog which written by Nami who lives in Borderless House Kyoto Kamigamo!

She wrote in detail about the daily life of the share house.

Let’s see one day of the share house‼

It is a report of Nami who is one of the tenants of Borderless House

This is Nami who is a tenant of Borderless House Kyoto Kamigamo.

It’s kind of sudden, what kind of image do you have about living in a share house?

When I started living in a share house, my friends asked me “Do you have a party everyday?” “Is it like a terrace house?”

So, this time I would like to tell you what kind of life in BORDERLESS HOUSE Kyoto Kamigamo.

■ 7: 00 ~ begin to hear the share mate’s preparation sound

From around 7:00am,

I hear the footsteps and conversation of the roommates.

There are not only students but also business person.

And each of them get ready to go such as eating break fast or taking shower.

Normally, there are more or less three people in the living room at 7:00am, most of them get up at around 8:00am.

Since my time to go to university is not fixed,

when getting up early, I stay in the room and read books, study and do some work until everyone comes up.

■10:00~ Free time

After finishing the breakfast, it’s a time to relax. There are some people who have already left school or work.

On the other hand, some tenants have classes in the afternoon. They take a time as they like such as using personal computer, watching TV and studying.

For my case, my class started from in the afternoon, I thought taking a blanch with my friends at university! And then, I prepared for it and went out!

■ 18: 00 ~ Share mates do homework as soon as coming back home!

I went straight back home.

They always do their homework in the living room as soon as they get home. (Holding a study group for Japanese!)
I often teach Japanese while cooking, and they also help me when I study art literature which was written in French and English.

The kitchen has never crowded until now, because the time each tenant comes back is different.

Some tenants sometimes share their meals and we often have cooking parties.

■ 20: 00 ~ cozy timeAfter dinner and finishing homeworks,

we have a good time with everyone such as watching TV together, talking about events that happened today.
Most of tenants come back home around this time.

Everyone says Tadaima(I’m home) and Okaeri(well come back) when tenants come back home.

I think it is the share house-specific!

Everyone drank delicious sakes or ate snacks.

The time refreshed me completely!

■24:00~ Good night!

As expected, it was time to go to bed.

Oyasumi nasai (good night).

I think there are pros and cons of living in share house,
but it depends on you whether the share house life will be good or not.
Why don’t you discover new things at the share house?

—————————————————————————————————–

So, how do you think?

It was the story that you can see real daily share house life, wasn’t it?!

Borderless House is available for staying from 1 month!

International Bowling Competition! with tenants from each Kansai share houses

Hello, this is Yuuka from Borderless House!

We listened to the voice that tenants want to interact with other tenants living in other houses so we held a team competing bowling competition in Osaka on July 9th!

Hello, Annyeonghaseyo, Bonjour, multiple languages

On that day, tenants from various countries such as Japan, Korea, Belgium, Netherlands, etc from a total of 4 houses gathered! (Kyoto Kamigamo House, Osaka Tamatsukuri House, Osaka Tsuruhashi House, Osaka Toyonaka House.)

Borderless House is a share house based on international exchange concept. As people with various backgrounds live together, they can learn each languages everyday and enjoy exchange culture while making their own cuisines.

It is the biggest feature of the house that you can enjoy intercultural exchanges!

Borderless House-specific! International team name!

We divided the members into three teams, and they thought about the team name!

“Team ☆ Turkey!” It is expressed that they want to take the turkey and win!
“Team ☆ Yotchon!”   ….?
“Team ☆ Pen Pen!”   ….? ?There are team names that we can not hear normally…

I heard the meaning from each team, ‘Yotchon’ is Korean and means ‘coming from behind to win’.
And “Pen Pen!”, it was said that it was decided by a tenant from the Netherlands who answered the question;“what is your favorite word in Japanese?”.There is a present on the winning team and the lowest team have to do penalty game, so everyone is motivated for victory!

Heat up much

It was the start of bowling! However, if it only competes for points, it will be a competition only for ability. If someone is a good bowler, you can only pray for a gutter…Therefore, we set up a special rule this time!that was…..

”Prohibited use of dominant hand!”stick! Those who have passed this must play with non-dominant hand.

Those who are handed down were disappointed…

those who hand it was grinning♪

It is available for the other team up to twice per game for each team.

Throwing a bowl at a person who is not a dominant hand will not be able to make a good performance at all, such as becoming the gutter!(It is as expected!)Everyone enjoyed the bowling tournament while using the stick!

A wonderful striker – ー ー ー ー ー ー ー ー ー!

There are also tenants who get prizes! They also enjoyed talking to each other during a little break between the games.
And there was a team who was thinking as to who would use that stick the next while laughing grinningly.

How! There were also strong men who took the turkey twice! All of the team members were excited!Every team aimed hard to win to the end and did best!

Which team won? Result announcement!

After the heated game, the winner was …

“Team ☆ Yotchon”

The score of the first one was losing to the other team, but like the name of the team, they made a comeback to win!
Congratulations!

On the other hand, the lowest place is …..

Team ☆ Pen Pen!

Then, please have wasabi(Japanese horseradish) puffed creams as a penalty !

I’m sorry, but I can not show you their reaction after eating…..

Turning over a new leaf and everyone took a group picture together at the end!

Even after the bowling, everyone went to eat out and it seemed to have continued interaction!
And I have a feeling that fun exchanges are going to happen in the future!
It is because the tenants were talking about planning to have a barbecue together in this summer.Thank you very much for everyone!!

Availability of share house room

Currently in the Borderless House Kansai, there are houses from more than 20 large share houses to 8 people share houses, especially for people who are concerned about share house life for the first time, we recommend a small large share house that you can easily open up to tenants.Although it is a little left, If you are interested in our share house, please visit our website below!
